WE ARE A COMMUNITY of BELIEVERS BASED IN NORTH-WEST AUCKLAND WHO ARE LOVED, EQUIPPED, AND SENT - here’s what we mean by that:
LOVED -
We recognise that we are loved extravagantly by God. We strive to live authentic lives, which are marked by love, imitating the one we follow. This is lived out at MCC through an emphasis in all our ministries on the love of God, and through intentionally seeking to build a loving, multi-generational faith community.
EQUIPPED -
We seek God individually and come together corporately in order to be equipped, empowered, and encouraged through the Holy Spirit, and the Word.
SENT -
We are sent out into our world to serve and to call others into a life with Jesus.
SENT
SEEK GOD
EAT WITH OTHERS
NURTURE RELATIONSHIPS
TALK ABOUT JESUS
SEEK GOD FIRST -
Loving, listening to, and learning about God and His Kingdom. As we seek God, He empowers us to live and love as His Son Jesus did. He equips us to bring His Kingdom into this world. Seeking God is encouraged through all our ministries and promoted as an individual practice as well.
EAT WITH OTHERS -
Regularly sharing meals with friends and strangers. Sharing a meal can demonstrate friendship, compassion, respect, generosity and love. It is a powerful way to break down barriers and to enter into relationship with others. Eating together is encouraged in homes, on Sundays at our cafe, and at events throughout the year.
NURTURE RELATIONSHIPS -
By sharing our lives with others. Blessing others by sharing our wisdom, struggles, possessions, time and love. This will strengthen and deepen the relationships with those we know, and reveal God’s love to those we don’t know. We are involved in our community on a personal level and through services offered by our Church and the affiliated Massey Community Trust.
TALK ABOUT JESUS -
Wherever we go. As we talk about who Jesus is and what He has done and is doing in our lives, it strengthens the faith of other believers and introduces the hope that Jesus brings into the lives of those who don’t know Him yet. Talking about Jesus is promoted in our messages, and discussed in our small groups. Support and seminars are offered from time to time to equip us better in this area e.g. sharing our personal testimony.

Ian is a long standing member of the Property and Finance Board.Libby has held various pastoral roles in the church with a strong emphasis on community and outreach. TINA TEOPE - CHILDREN + SMALL GROUPS PASTOR + Administrator
Christina - mostly known around here as Tina - is on the Pastoral Leadership Team for our Sunday Morning Congregation. Together they seek to ensure that our congregation is growing in their walk with Jesus and that people are being cared for spiritually and pastorally. Tina has particular responsibility for primary and intermediate age kids and families, and also oversees small group ministries. She is married to Lito, has three bright-eyed primary aged kids, and loves this church whanau. Tina has been at MCC since it started in the early 1990s and totally believes that when functioning well, church families are one of the most beautiful things in the world.

Hannah works alongside Tina in our rapidly growing kids ministry. She leads our Thrive Kids Club, and oversees Thrive Under 5 + ‘wriggle room’ groups. Along with Tina she shares responsibility for pastoral care of our young families at MCC. She oversees our Mainly Music outreach in a volunteer capacity.
Hannah is married to Adam, and have three young kids to keep them on their toes!
JANET HAINES - PASTORAL SUPPORT
Having attended MCC for many years, Janet is a natural fit as Pastoral Support in our team. She takes the initiative to go above and beyond for our MCC community; you’ll often find her, secateurs in hand caring for our property. On that note, Janet loves all things gardening, walking, talking, working, sharing, meeting, teaching, sitting… ‘living life to the full’ she tells us - and we agree!
WHAT WE
BELIEVE
We believe that as we receive salvation, we are made righteous, forgiven, and have the gift of eternal life. By the Spirit of God, we begin to be changed to live according to God’s design, and grow in the desire to become like Christ. Our growing likeness to Jesus Christ, by his grace and as we continue in him, is evidence of our relationship with God. God’s greatest requirement of us is that we love Him with all of our heart, and that we love our neighbours as ourselves, although we also rest on the assurance of his love for us and his understanding of us as fallen and sinful human beings.
THE BIBLE -
We believe God inspired the authors of Scripture by His Holy Spirit to speak to all generations of believers, including us today. God calls us to immerse ourselves within the story of Scripture so that it becomes a reliable and authoritative guide for the living out of our own communal and individual journeys.
GOD -
There is one true God, infinite and all powerful, eternally existing in three persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. God is loving and merciful, holy and just and is the creator and sustainer of all things.
CREATION -
In the beginning God created the universe, and it was good. He created humans in His image, to live in community with Him, with one another and with creation.
THE FALL -
Tragically, humans chose another path and darkness and evil entered the human story. Our relationships with God, others, ourselves, and creation were fractured. We rebelled against God as a human race into selfishness, impurity, injustice and destruction; we desperately needed to be rescued.
REDEMPTION THROUGH CHRIST -
Jesus Christ is God's only Son and God incarnate, the complete revelation of God in human form. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary and lived a perfect and sinless human life. Jesus came to preach good news to the poor and set the captives free, and to proclaim a new arrival of the Kingdom of God. Christ died on the cross for our sins as our representative and substitute. God raised Him from the dead through the power of the Spirit and He is exalted at the right hand of the Father, having received all authority in heaven and on earth. Jesus is our only hope of bringing peace and reconciliation between God and humans.
THE HOLY SPIRIT -
After Jesus’ ascension, His work was continued through the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is eternal and divine. He reveals Jesus Christ to us, teaches truth and communicates the life and power of God to us. At the time that anyone receives the gift of salvation, the Holy Spirit comes to dwell within them.
SALVATION -
Salvation is the gift of God's grace through the death of Jesus Christ, and is available to all who repent of their sins and by faith receive him as Saviour and Lord. They are born again by the Holy Spirit, thereby becoming children of God.
As we receive salvation, we are made righteous, forgiven, and have the gift of eternal life. By the Spirit of God, we begin to be changed to live according to God’s design, and grow in the desire to become like Christ. Our growing likeness to Jesus Christ, by his grace as we continue in him, is evidence of our relationship with God. God’s greatest requirement of us is that we love Him with all of our heart, and that we love our neighbours as ourselves, although we also rest on the assurance of his love for us and his understanding of us as fallen and sinful human beings.
THE CHURCH -
The Church is the gathering of God’s people, rooted and grounded in Christ. We practice spiritual disciplines, baptise believers by immersion in water, and celebrate the Lord’s Supper. Through the Spirit's indwelling, God's people are enabled to live holy lives and are equipped, in the fellowship of the Church, to witness and work for Christ and to glorify God in the world. The Church is a global and local expression of living out the way of Jesus, through love, peace, sacrifice and beauty.
FUTURE -
We believe the day is coming when Jesus will return and God will establish His rule forever. There will be no more death, and God will wipe away all our tears. Our relationship with God, ourselves and creation will be whole. All who have trusted in Jesus will flourish as God intends. This is what we hope for and we are giving our lives to live out that future reality now.
