IMPACT
Who We Are
Massey Community Church (MCC) is a Christian community church serving people and families in Massey and the wider North-West Auckland community.
We are a community of believers who seek to follow Jesus and live out his teaching through worship, learning, relationships, practical service and care for others.
MCC is based at 8 Vadam Road, Massey, Auckland, New Zealand. The church community was established in 1989 and has continued to serve the Massey community for more than three decades. Members of the original church-planting group continue to be involved in the life of MCC today.
Our purpose is expressed through three words:
Loved. Equipped. Sent.
Loved
We believe that we are deeply loved by God, and we seek to build a welcoming, authentic and multi-generational community where people can experience care, friendship and belonging.
Equipped
We help people grow in their faith and develop the practical and spiritual resources to live out their beliefs. This happens through Bible teaching, prayer, worship, small groups, discipleship, pastoral care and opportunities to serve.
Sent
We believe that following Jesus means serving others. We encourage our people to build relationships, care for their neighbours, support people experiencing difficulty and contribute positively to the wider community.
Serving Our Community
Our community service is an important part of the life of Massey Community Church.
We provide opportunities for people of different ages and backgrounds to connect, build relationships, receive support and participate in community life. Some programmes are specifically designed to support families, children, young people and people experiencing personal difficulties.
Our approach is not limited to Sunday worship. MCC operates activities and programmes throughout the week, both at our facilities and in people's homes.
These activities are delivered by a combination of staff and volunteers from the church community.
Practical Support for People in Need
MCC provides practical assistance to people experiencing difficult or emergency circumstances.
Our Help Fund is specifically used to provide resources to families and individuals experiencing crisis situations, including local emergency circumstances. Church giving also supports special events, community activities, children's ministries, local and overseas mission organisations, and other community needs.
MCC partners with local food banks to provide food to those in need.
Our goal is to respond to people with compassion and practical help when they need it most.
Our Community Programmes
Massey Community Church provides a range of programmes and activities throughout the year.
Celebrate Recovery
Celebrate Recovery is a weekly community programme helping people work through ‘hurts, hang-ups and habits’ in a supportive environment.
The programme operates every Thursday at MCC and includes dinner, a large group time, supportive small groups and connection over dessert and a cuppa.
Celebrate Recovery was established at MCC in 2006, to help meet the needs of people who are hurting and struggling in our community. Many have experienced life change through this programme.
Thrive Kids
Thrive Kids provides programmes for children from preschool through primary school.
Our children's programmes create opportunities for children to build friendships, participate in activities and games, and learn about the Bible and Christian faith in an age-appropriate environment.
We also provide support for families with younger children, including a space for under-two-year-olds and programmes for preschool-aged children.
Youth Group
MCC supports young people through Junior Youth and High School Youth programmes.
These groups provide opportunities for young people to develop friendships, have fun together, explore their faith and receive intentional discipleship and support as they grow.
Mainly Music
Mainly Music is a preschool programme providing a fun, interactive experience for young children and their parents or caregivers.
The programme uses singing, dancing, instruments, movement and play to help children develop through music while also creating opportunities for parents and caregivers to build relationships with one another.
Mainly Music operates during school terms at the MCC facilities in cooperation with Massey Community Trust.
Community Dinners
MCC hosts monthly Community Dinners, providing an opportunity for people to share a meal and connect with others.
These gatherings are open to the wider community and are designed to create an accessible environment where people can meet others, build relationships and enjoy a shared meal. On average 70-80 people attend each month. Community dinners are run in cooperation with Massey Community Trust.
Men’s Breakfasts
These are held several times throughout the year to encourage connection and conversations around relevant topics to men.
Women’s Social Events
These are held monthly (excluding Dec/Jan) to encourage connection amongst women of all ages looking to discover new interests or simply to ‘have a break’.
Revive
‘Connection and companionship through creativity’. This is held on Wednesdays during school term time. It provides a space for adults to connect and learn new skills or revive old ones to share with others e.g. cooking, craft, music, movement, games, puzzles.
Vadam Rd Bootcamp
A twice weekly exercise program for those who cannot manage a gym. Lots of laughter and encouragement for beginners. Run in cooperation with MCT.
Small Groups, Pastoral Care and Prayer
Beyond our larger programmes, members of the MCC community participate in small groups, prayer, pastoral care and activities within their homes and neighbourhoods.
These relationships provide ongoing opportunities for people to receive encouragement, practical support and friendship.

Impact
The impact of Massey Community Church is expressed through the people we serve and the relationships that are built through our programmes and activities.
Our community work includes:
Providing practical assistance to people and families experiencing hardship or crisis.
Providing programmes for children and families.
Supporting young people through youth programmes and mentoring relationships.
Providing a welcoming preschool programme through Mainly Music.
Providing a recovery-focused community through Celebrate Recovery.
Bringing people together through community meals and other events.
Providing pastoral care, prayer and personal support.
Supporting local and overseas mission organisations.
Equipping volunteers to serve others within the church and wider community.
Encouraging members of our church to serve people in their own neighbourhoods and communities.
Our work is supported by the generosity of people who contribute financially and volunteer their time. Giving helps resource our staff and volunteers, children's and family ministries, community activities, mission work and emergency assistance for people in need.
We are committed to using these resources to support our mission and serve people in our local community and beyond.
A Community With a Long History in Massey
Massey Community Church was established in 1989 as a church community serving the growing Massey area.
Over the decades, MCC has continued to develop its programmes and community involvement while maintaining a strong emphasis on relationships, discipleship, families and practical service.
People who have been part of MCC for many years continue to contribute to the church's ministry and community work, alongside newer members and volunteers.
Today, MCC continues this work through its Sunday gatherings, community programmes, children's and youth ministries, pastoral care, practical assistance and opportunities for people to serve others.
Our Christian
Mission
Massey Community Church is a Christian church. Our programmes and community service are motivated by our belief in Jesus Christ and his call to love God and love our neighbours.
We seek to put this belief into practice by:
Seeking God — growing in our relationship with God through prayer, worship and learning.
Eating with others — sharing meals and creating opportunities for friendship and connection.
Nurturing relationships — sharing our time, resources, experience and care with others.
Talking about Jesus — sharing the hope and message of Jesus with those who want to explore the Christian faith.
We welcome people whether they are already part of a church community, exploring Christianity for the first time, or simply looking for friendship, practical support or a place to belong.
